The proposed resolution approves plans and specifications and authorizes the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Expansion. The total estimated cost of the project is $7,730,000. Funding is available in Munis project #17196. No additional appropriation is required.

Body
The Capital Budget includes funding for the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Expansion. The project funds the construction of an additional gymnasium and pre-function space, renovation of existing locker rooms, installation of geothermal system, and replacement of MEP systems at the current facility located at Warner Park, 1625 Northport Drive, Madison, WI.

This resolution approves the plans and specifications for the project, authorizes the Board of Public Works to advertise for and receive bids for the project, authorizes execution of any lease or easement documents necessary to accomplish the project and authorizes the acquisition of materials and services required to successfully complete the project.

The current construction market is exhibiting significant variability in material and labor costs due to supply disruptions and consumer demand in construction bidding responses. City staff continue to closely monitor bid results for potential adjustments to the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Expansion estimate and schedule.


BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the plans and specifications for the Warner Park Community Recreation Center Expansion are hereby approved.
2. That the Board of Public Works is hereby authorized to advertise for and receive bids for the Project.
